In 2008 Bharathiraja directed his last film Bommalattam. Now he has become very busy in the pre-production works of his next film. The film is titled Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum. Parthiban is donning dual role in this film. He is donning the role of a father and son.
Minal is one of the heroines of this film. G V Prakash Kumar has been signed for composing music for this film. There will be always lots of speculations in Kodambakkam that who will be the heroine in a Bharathiraja's film.
Bharathiraja had originally planned to cast Priyamani whom he had introduced her. But he was reluctant to cast her because he felt that she will not be suitable for village girl role since she is donning glamour roles in Telugu films. At this juncture, he happened to see the film Vaagai Sooda Vaa. He who was highly impressed seeing Iniya's acting has immediately signed her for an important female lead role in this film.Iniya is in cloud nine because of the success of her first film and that she is going to do the female lead role in Bharathiraja's film.
