Bhumika steps into Venky-Mahesh multistarrer

 

The biggest multi-starrer Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu starring Super Star Mahesh Babu and Victory Venkatesh in the leads is soon hitting the floors. We have informed that Samantha is zeroed in for the leading lady role in the film and she will be pairing opposite Mahesh Babu.

Now, the latest and interesting update is Bhumika is being considered for the role of other female lead alongside Venkatesh. The actress is said to have given her nod after the makers approaching her. Earlier, Nayanatara and Trisha names have been in buzz. However, the makers are yet to confirm the news.

Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu is being directed by Srikanth Addala and produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations banner.

Vijay, a James Bond in 'Yohan'

 

 

Gautham Vasudev Menon is doing four projects at a time�- 'Neethane En Ponvasantham', which he is simultaneously making in three languages (Tamil, Telugu and Hindi), and the Hindi remake of 'Vinnaithandi Varuvaya', titled 'Ek Dhivana Dha'.

After completing these films, he will move on to 'Yohan Adhyayam Ondru', his first venture with Vijay. "Some rumour mills have it that Gautham is toying with the idea of coming out with a movie every two years in this series, like Yohan Adhyayam Irandu and Yohan Adhyayam Moondru but the director has remained tight-lipped about these.

"Vijay plays an international agent in this flick," Gautham says and adds: "Yohan Adhyayam Ondru will deal with one of the assignments he does in a foreign country. It will chronicle two months of the protagonist's life."

On what made him to join hands with the Ilayathalapathy, Gautham says, "We both wanted to work together for a long time, but things didn't take shape.� This time we were sure not to miss the opportunity and made an announcement on Yohan."

These birds were purchased and cooked. Kamal who invited Vairamuthu to the shooting spot served with him Ullaan curry. This has stirred Vairamuthu's nostalgic younger days. Then after tasting the food both of them were speaking for a long time.

Kamal Haasan then showed the sequences of Viswaroobam which was shot so far. Vairamuthu after seeing the 40 minutes footage appreciated Kamal for his different story and his astounding acting and technology.

There are six songs in this film. One of the songs is penned by Kamal himself and the remaining 5 songs are written by Vairamuthu. Shankar Mahadevan is composing the music.

Surya's diwali venture 7aum Arivu has opened with mixed reviews but the star is already busy for shooting for his next venture with K V Anand.

According to Director K V Anand, Surya will be seen in 5 different getups for this movie and he also clarified that it is just the getups. Surya has reportedly worked out for 8 packs for this movie. K V Anand has assured that Maatran's climax will be one of the finest climaxes that tamil cinema would ever see.Maatran is an action thriller that is expected to hit the screens this summer.Looks like Surya fans will have a visual treat this summer.

Karan’s Next Release in Trouble

 

Thambi Vettothi Sundaram (TVS), is Karan's next release where he is paired with Anjali.

The film is directed by Vadivudaiyan and produced by Senthil Kumar. The film has run into trouble as it is based on real
life character a rowdy from South Tamil Nadu, belonging to a particular caste.

TVS has been duly censored and given an 'A' certificate for the violence and theme. Now a particular outfit from Nagercoil has sent a legal notice to the producer and Tamil Film Producers Council, asking them not to release the film.
They claim that the film will hurt and defame the people and particularly a community down south.

Karan held a press meet to explain his viewpoint. The actor explained: " TVS will not hurt anybody's sentiments. The film is not negative; I just don't understand why this organisation is trying to stir up trouble. During the shoot of the film on Tamil Nadu-Kerala border, some miscreants attacked the unit and the director sustained injuries.In fact, Anjali had a narrow escape."

The newly elected members of TFPC will have to take a decision on TVS, as agitators in Nagercoil are planning to stage a dharna in front of the Nagercoil Collectorate office.

Lot’s in store for Release in November

 

Deepavali festival has gone off with little impact to the audience with three major films. And there are some resonant films on the cards for November that the postponed Mayakkam Enna is slated for 11th while STR's Osthi may find the screens a week later. Also on the listing is Sasi Kumar casting Porali directed by his friend Samudrakani which may go on screens on 25th November.

Though there are indications that ME is ready for release at any time with post-production tasks being completed, STR has made some last minute hitches for Osthi. It seems he is not personally happy over the flow of the shooting as a song sequence is still to be completed. Though the director Dharani said the movie will be ready in another fortnight, it is to be seen whether this will be apt.

In addition Udayanidhi Stalin's Oru Kal Oru Kannadi is on shaping with its trailer making impressive responses in Velayutham screens. Parthiban is making some news that his Vithagan may visit the screens anytime in November. Hence the stardom is carried over to November once the theatres show way to the Deepavali releases.

After the success of Kaavalan, Vijay joins hands with Raja for this commercial megabudget movie that tries to portray innocent heroism on screen.Vijay Antony yet again tunes for Vijay movie after super hit songs in his earlier venture Vettaikaran.

Story

The prologue of the story starts in pakistan where Home minister of Tamil Nadu is taken blindfolded to terrorists where they plan to disturb the peace of South India with the Home Minister's help. The Home Minister joins them for a huge ransom and agrees to trigger bomb blasts in various places of Chennai. Genelia(Bharathi) plays a journalist who happen to witness the bomb blast tries to uncover the people behind the blasts where she unfortunately loses two of her friends. The baddies who triggered bomb blasts die in a freak accident and Genelia makes use of this situation to make a fictional character with the name Velayudham who dares to kill all miscreants involved.

The story then cut across to Village where Vijay (Velayudham) is portrayed as an innocent caring brother who dares to do anything for her sister Saranya Mohan(Kaveri) and Hansika Motwani plays his love interest. He comes to Chennai to get financial aid from a chit fund for his sister's marriage.He saves people from various dangers without his knowledge . Then Vijay finds out that the chit fund company is a bogus one. What leads Vijay to transform into Velayudham ? How does he save people from danger forms the rest of the story and ends with a fitting climax.

Performances

Vijay's performance takes the movie to the next level. He delivers his best in every aspect, be it songs, comedy , dance or action, and he just outperforms everyone in the movie.

Genelia has a strong characterization in this movie which gives ample scope for performance but she could have been better. Hansika mesmerizes the audience with her cute bubbly reactions and glamour quotient.Santhanam and Suri can be termed as other heroes of the movie where they provide good humour . Saranya Mohan repeats her good sister act yet again . Please Saranya, no more sister characters. Time to move on .

Technicalities

Raja lacks story writing skills but he proves to be a good screenplay writer and caters vijay fans to the core with logical screenplay.Though the second half of the movie drags a little, Raja ends the movie with an apt climax that moves Vijay fans .He proves that he can offer a mass masala entertainer which will be enjoyed by all.

Priyan's Cinematography captures death defying action sequences. The songs are very well captured, especially 'Mayyam Seidhao' and 'Molachu Moonu' songs prove to be a visual treat. Vijay Antony's songs come as diwali bonus for Vijay fans .VT Vijayan's editing could have been much better especially in the second half of the movie .

Vettai to see solo release

 

Initially, Rajapattai and Vettai was scheduled to release on the same day. But, after UTV Marketing Head Dhananjayan's efforts, Rajapattai's production company has decided to change the release date to let both the films get more screens.Vettai is a joint venture of UTV Motion Pictures and Linguswamy's Thirupathi Brothers. Vettai is a multistarrer starring Arya, Madhavan , Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul directed by Linguswamy .Meanwhile, Vettai team was spotted shooting a song at Karaikudi.
