Director P Vasu's son Sakthi is marrying their close family friend's daughter Smriti at the Mayor Ramanathan Chettiar Hall in Chennai on October 31.
Sakthi has done films like Ninaithaley Inikkum and Mahesh Saranya Matrum Palar.
The wedding will be a grand affair and P Vasu's friends in the industry will be attending it.
Sakthi at the moment has three films, Vanjikottai Valiban, Edho Seidhai Enna and Kalla Siripazhaga.
Vijay starrer Velayutham has Santhanam handling the comedy department. But what is news now is that the film is going to be a complete laugh riot because there are 30 comedians in it with Santhanam leading the pack.
This detail was let out recently. Velayutham is gearing up for Diwali release. The film's director Jayam Raja says that it will go in for Censor certification on 16th or 17th October and the release date will be announced officially after that.

This film is being released on the Deepavali day. She is also pairing with Dhanush in the film titled 3. This film is directed by Aishwarya who is the daughter of Rajnikanth and wife of Dhanush.
She while speaking to the media said, " Right from my young age I was interested in music and singing. I use to sing very well during my school days. My co-students and teachers use to appreciate me. I joined a rock band and wrote songs for them.
Now this song is being sung worldwide. Working with this band is an unforgettable experience for me. I like pop songs very much. I wanted to become a pop singer. But I became an actress unexpectedly. In Telugu I am pairing with Junior NTR and Pawan Kalyan."
Iniya has now become very popular through her acting in the film Vaagai Sooda Vaa. This is her second film in Tamil. Her first film was Yuddham Sei in which she donned the role of Cheran's sister. But she was noticed in that film.
Iniya while speaking said, "Though my mother tongue is Malayalam I have a keen interest for Tamil. The reason for this could also be because I keep on listening to Ilayaraja's songs. To tell the truth I did not have the dream to act in Tamil films.
My only interest was to become an air hostess or work in an airlines company. The reason for this is I want to fly in the sky. Right from my school days I used to say bye to the planes flying in the sky. This became my dream. But I did not take any effort for this. When I was a child, many approached me to act in the films and my parents also made me act. Then I started acting in films and serials. Then I took up modeling and later on I started doing heroine roles in the Malayalam films. My first Malayalam film as heroine was Thala Marmarangal. This film was selected in the best film category in the Dhaka International Film Festival and my next film Chera also bagged the award for the best film at the Russian Film Festival. Seeing this, director Mysskin offered me a role in Yuddham Sei. I donned the role of Cheran's sister but I was not noticed because the role was small.So it would be appropriate to say that Vaagai Sooda Vaa was my first film. I am very happy by saying so. When I heard the story, I knew this film will come out well since I have the experience of acting right from my young age. I also agreed for a dull make up. I should thank director Sargunam sir for giving me a good opening in Tamil. He improvised my acting by teaching me to cook and make tea. Now I am not able to keep the phone down because I am getting numerous calls appreciating my acting in this film. I am thankful to all the people who are appreciating me."
Debutant director Nelson is directing a film titled Vettai Mannan which is being produced at a budget of Rs 40 Crores. Hollywood technicians are working in this film which has Simbhu in the lead role. Simbhu is donning the role of an international assassin.

How was your experience acting with Rajnikanth?
The first time I came to Mumbai, I saw the film shooting of Rajnikanth. I wanted to speak to him at that time. I wanted to act with him in future. That dream has been fulfilled. Rajni has donned a small role in Ra One. He who has such a good heart came to Mumbai and acted in this film. Instead of telling that I have acted with him, I should say that I am really blessed standing by him who has so much humanity.
I have already acted with Kamal Haasan in Hey Ram. I am proud that I have acted with Rajnikanth and Kamal who are lions. In that way I think I have the blessings of the God. Kamal Haasan is a very good actor. I have learnt a lot of things from him. I have acted with Ajith in the film Ashoka. He is also a good friend of mine.How is Rajnikanth? Have you met him in Chennai?
Rajnikanth is very healthy. He is very much interested to act in Raana. I am also expecting Raana very much.
Will you act in direct Tamil films?
I like to act but I don't know the language. I am ready to act in a dumb role in a Tamil film directed by Manirathnam. The best actors and technicians in the world are here.

Vedi was never going to be a blast, knew the audience, after seeing films as Villu and Engeyum Kadhal which came from the Prabhu Deva stable. The film expectedly bombed at the box office, since it was the same confronting-a-politician story.
The unanimous comment from the audience was that Prabhu Deva could go back to what he did best – choreography. Prabhu Deva is not much of a director as much as he is a choreographer. His outdated scripts can no longer become blockbuster hits.
With what Prabhu Deva is paid as a director for his honeymoon, an ambitious newbie director can make a film out of it. Prabhu Deva is not any least affected by this flop feature of his but it is Vishal who has had to bear the brunt of it.
Vishal's next film is Samaran for which he has slashed about one and a half crore of his remuneration. If Vedi were a hit, he could have hiked his salary. But after Avan Ivan, which won him critical acclaim, Vedi proved to be a disaster for Vishal.
Shah Rukh Khan who was in Chennai on Monday (Oct 9) for the Tamil audio and trailer launch of his RA.One, charmed the city.
At the launch everybody wanted to know when he will be meeting superstar Rajinikanth and thanking him for his cameo appearance in RA. One.
SRK and his team kept everyone on their toes as he wanted the meeting to be not in the full glare of the media.
The buzz is that on his way to the airport, the Bollywood Badshah met our superstar.
Later speaking to CNN-IBN at the Chennai airport SRK said: "I was happy to see Rajini sir full hale and hearty and healthy it was really nice to see him and convey regards of everyone in unit. I had a cup of
coffee with him, he gave me coconut water. I spent about half an hour to 45 minutes with him. He was cheerful and happy and he was wishing me luck for my film."
SRK also added that the previous evening Latha Rajinikanth, had sent him dinner and they are such kind people, so he wanted to go and thank them personally
