Main testing time for Hansika

It is a great task to pass the test given to an artist in a film. For Hansika Motwani, every movie is a sort of test for her career. In almost all her films, she has contributed her might with full energy. In Mappillai, her role with Dhanush is worth watching and same is the case of Engeyum Kathal.

During the pre-release days of Velayutham, she was in the news claiming that she was facing a major test in her life. It is none other than her examinations for her studies. While she had time to act in films, she got interest to learn some academics from a London based institution. Now she is concentrating on those studies. It is to be noted and appreciated that she sacrificed many offers due to this examinations.

This is why she kept aloof from the moods of celebrations for the success of Velayutham. Her role in the film has come for some good reviews and praise from the critic corners. Even the director of the film Jayam Raja attributed her performance and co operation for the making of the movie to her involvement. In an off the record statement, Hansika said she came to know about the success of the movie but liked to enjoy after the examinations. We wish her all the best in the examinations.

I never got the opportunity to have boy friends, Asin

Though Kollywood angel Asin is flying high in Bollywood, she is still affectionate towards our people. Here is a small interview with her:

We know about your father very much but tell us about your mother?

My mother is a doctor. My mother is also a role model to me like my father. She has never treated me as a child. Since I am the only child, I will never misuse the freedom they have given me. I am very sincere to their faith they have on me.

There is news that you have a big library in your house?

Yes. The library belongs to my father. In my younger days I use to read the books from my father's library. My father use to have big collections of books. These books pertain to Malayalam literature, politics, religion and psychology. When I was young, my father use to tell me not to read heavy materials to read light books. But I will read my father's books only. When I was taking a big Shakespeare book my father caught me.

At this moment do you have any desire?

I am very happy now. I have got everything. The only thing I missed was Valentine date, but there is no problem about that and I am not sad about that.

Have you been involved in relationships?

I was never in relationship till now. I was very firm and made a decision that I should not have relationship. In the age of 14 I took up modeling. Now I am in cinema. Till this moment all my concentration is in cinema only.

Then who is your boy friend?

I studied in St Teresa College in Cochin. But that was a ladies college. Because of this I did not have the chance to move with boys of my age group. Now after coming to cinema most of the heroes are married. Some are very elderly person. Because of this there is no chance of boy friend for me.

How are you managing the media there?

I have a formula for that. No overreaction= Peace of mind. This is the secret of my formula.

My first bilingual gets ready: Tamannaah

Tamannaah who rose to the numero uno position in Kollywood disappeared from Tamil films and started concentrating on Tollywood.

Remember she had two releases this year Siruthai and Venghai, and now Tammu is shooting for a bilingual, her first one in Tamil and Telugu.

This film titled Endhukante Premanta in Telugu is directed by A. Karunakaran. GV Prakash Kumar is scoring music. Tamannaah who is just back after a month-long schedule in Switzerland, Geneva and Paris spoke to Tamilkey.com

How did you celebrate Diwali?
I missed out on Diwali as I was away on shoot in Europe. It was a hectic schedule where we didn't have even a one-day break. I called up my dad and mom who were in Mumbai and wished them.

You have been termed as a lucky mascot. Please comment?
Luck is a confusing and over-used word. It gives a feeling that everything about a person is accidental, which is not in my case. I always go with the flow and never plan or draw out strategies. I take life with all its ups and downs. Success is a combination of hard work and a lot of people right from choreographers to designers etc. So I would rather call the factor destiny than luck.

Why are you not seen in Tamil these days?
It is again destiny. I got good work in succession in Telugu while nothing exciting came my way in Tamil. I always believe in doing a film where I have something to offer to the audiences. Luckily all my recent Telugu films like Badrinath and Oosaravelli has a perfect blend of glamour and performance. And I am doing my first bilingual Endhukante Premanta, with Ram for which I am saying my Tamil lines.

How was your schedule in Europe?
It was hectic and we shot even on Sundays. So I hardly got any time to go around and explore the place. While I was in Paris so many people, mainly Tamils came up and told me that they enjoyed all my Tamil films. In a way Tamil films have given me a phenomenal reach. I would love to do more Tamil films.

They say you are a very private person who does not bond with your co-stars. Would you call yourself an anti-social?
(Laughs) I don't think so. I am friendly and have great amount of respect to all my co-stars, who I have worked. I keep in touch with them, whenever I am free.

What are your releases in 2012?
Rachaa with Ram Charan, Rebel with Prabhas and Endhukante Premanta with Ram . I will be signing a Tamil film soon.

Mani Ratnam to reintroduce Parthiban’s daughter

The guessing games for the female lead in Mani Ratnam's next seems to have not come to an end, as the filmmaker is yet to find a new face for his forthcoming multilingual movie. After unsuccessful attempts to introduce Akshara Hassan (Kamal Hassan's daughter) and Tulasi (Radha's daughter), the director is now thinking to rope in Parthiban's daughter Keerthana.

Sources say that Mani Ratnam has short-listed a few names and Keethana's also features in that list. The filmmaker is yet to approach her but believes that she can fit the bill. Though the actors daughter is not popular, she has become a familiar face as she has been often spotted at many cinema related functions like audio release, music launch and première shows. It is noted that the actress has worked before in the filmmaker's earlier film Kannathil Muthamittal as a child artist, which bagged her National Award.

However, on Akshara Hassan and Tulasi's decisions to opt out of the film, sources claim that the former is currently concentrating on her filmmaking career and in the latter's case, her mother Radha is keen on stabilising her elder daughter Karthika's career.

Meanwhile, Karthik's son Gautham, who is being launched by Mani Ratnam with this film, has started working on the project. The upcoming actor is visiting Chennai frequently for screen tests and preparing for his role with a lots of hope.

Amala Paul bags Surya’s Singam 2

Amala Paul, who missed out quite a few films including Dhanush's 3, has a big reason to smile. The actress, who was last seen in Vikram's Deiva Thirumagal, has reportedly bagged a biggie to her kitty. Well, she has been roped in by director Hari for his next project Singam 2, which stars Surya.

If reports are to be believed, Amala Paul was the favourite choice for the female lead role in Singam. After coming across her looks of her earlier films, Hari directly met director Lingusamy and asked him to show some of her pictures and videos from her upcoming Tamil movie Vettai. After going through it, he felt that Amala was the right candidate for the role and offered her the movie.

Hari's Singam 2 is a sequel to Singam, which starred Surya and Anushka Shetty in the lead roles. However, it is not sure whether the filmmaker will retain other cast and crew for the second instalment.
