Harris Jayaraj’s magic at Mayajaal

Harris was truly on the edge at his maiden music concert, aptly titled On the Edge, held at Mayajaal, one of the favourite weekend destinations of Chennaiites, Saturday evening. Audiences were on the top of their energy levels, when hit numbers of the music composer were performed live on the stage.

Interestingly, it was director Gautham Vasudev Menon who welcomed the gathering and gave the introduction speech. Though Gautham and Harris had parted ways professionally, their care for each other was visible at the event. It may be recalled that it was Harris who launched the music album of 'Kanden', which was the first release of Gautham's audio label Photon Kathas, a few months ago.

Top singers of Tamil film music, including Krish, Tippu, Benny Dayal, Suchitra, Naresh Iyer, Kay Kay, Haricharan, Devan and Harish Raghavendra crooned the evergreen songs of Harris. Not just for the numbers, but whenever the music composer's name was uttered, there was huge applause from the fans.

The music composer is on a high post the music release of Suriya's '7aum Arivu'. For the first time in Tamil cinema, he has included a Chinese song in the album. Harris – whose Bollywood flick 'Force' released recently – is currently busy completing work on 'Nanban' and 'Oru Kal Oru Kannadi'.
