Kamal calls Parthipan

R Parthipan is on cloud nine, right from the moment he received a call from Kamal Haasan, appreciating him for the way he had designed the invitation for the audio launch of his forthcoming film 'Vithagan', which took place in Chennai recently.

"I am a great admirer of the Ulaganayagan and I was so happy to get a phone call from him. Kamal sir told me that he liked the way the invitation was designed. It was simple, straightforward and at the same time stunning," says the actor-director with a smile.

Produced by Manickam Narayanan of Seventh Channel, 'Vithagan', has Parthipan playing the role of a police officer with Poorna opposite him. Written and directed by Parthipan himself, music for the movie is by Joshua Sridhar of 'Kadhal' fame.

"Parthipan initially thought of inviting Kamal to preside over the Vithagan audio launch function. But later dropped the idea, since Kamal is sporting a new getup for his next venture Viswaroopam," says a unit source adding: "Vithagan will hit the screens in November."

Karthi says it is a challenging thing to continue as hero

The same reception will be in this film also. I will also be acting in an action packed film directed by Suraj. Anushka is pairing with me in this film.

Ajith injured during the shooting of Billa 2

Chakri Toleti is directing this film. Parvathy Omnakuttan is pairing with Ajith in this film. The shooting of this film is going on in top gear. For the last few days the action sequences are being shot. The shooting is taking place in Goa.

During this shooting he sustained injuries in his hand and because of this there was heavy bleeding. As per the sequence, Ajith had to hit his opponent's head with a ice water bottle. Though this was a dummy bottle, there was also a danger of hand injury. In spite of Ajith being cautious, the bottle unexpectedly broke and tore his hands. He was rushed to hospital because of heavy bleeding. Ajith is now admitted in the hospital and is taking rest.

Vithagan audio launch took place in Chennai recently. Several biggies from the film industry wished the film's lead star Parthiban on the film's success during this event. But what surprised the actor was a call from Kamal Haasan wishing him all the best for the film's success at the box office.

Speaking about this, Parthiban said that it was indeed surprising to get a call from Kamal Haasan. It is a great gesture from a star like Kamal to wish an actor voluntarily, said Parthiban.

Aadhi goes back to Saami

Controversial director Saami might not be in action for a while after the release of his Sindhu Samaveli that launched Amala Paul in Tamil. Saami was supposed to work with Aadhi after Mirugam for a movie titled Sarithram. However, Aadhi's career sort of took off after Eeram and he had no time for Sarithram.

Now that Vasanthabalan's Aravaan is nearing completion, Aadhi seems to have decided to return to Sarithram. Saami will dig out his script and work on it now that Aadhi has confirmed his dates to work with him.
