Vidya falls ill during the shoot of The Dirrty Picture

 

Bollywood's Kerala-born actress Vidya Balan reported fell ill during the shooting of her upcoming Hindi film titled The Dirrty Picture (TDP). The film, as already reported, is based on the life, times and tragic demise of 'Silk' Smitha, Kollywood's eternal 'item girl'. Vidya, known more for her performance-oriented roles than 'exposing' kind of roles, plays the late 'Silk' Smitha in the film.

In order to prepare herself to play Smitha, Vidya first visited Smitha's village in Andhra Pradesh and interacted with her relatives and friends. Apprehensions were cast by many as they wondered how Vidya would fit into the role of the dusky beauty Smitha. Vidya had to put on oodles of weight around her waist and midriff areas in order to resemble Smitha.

She did everything right and the results are there for everyone to see and applaud. She was liked and applauded for her looks when the still photographs of the film were released. Director Milan Luthria is only too happy that his choice to go for Vidya to play Smitha was 'just the right thing'. The committed Vidya fell ill recently and was admitted to hospital where she stayed for 3 days.

Though she was running high fever, she didn't mind and continued to shoot as a result of which she had to be admitted to the Leelavati Hospital in Mumbai on the eve of Dusshera. The tests conducted on the Palakkad-born Vidya revealed that the amount of hemoglobin in her blood was below the normal level. She was treated for three days and then discharged.

விஜய் நடித்துள்ள இந்தப் படம், தெலுங்கில் வெளியான நாகார்ஜுனா படமொன்றின் தழுவல். ரீமேக் புகழ் ஜெயம் ராஜா முதல் முறையாக தன் வீட்டு ஹீரோ ரவியை விடுத்து, வெளி ஹீரோ ஒருவரை வைத்து எடுத்துள்ள படம். விஜய்க்கு இந்தப் படம் ஓடியே தீர வேண்டிய கட்டாயம். எனவே எதிர்ப்பார்ப்பு பெரிய அளவில் உள்ளது.

 

ஜெனிலியா - ஹன்ஸிகா என இரு நாயகிகள், விஜய் ஆன்டனி இசை. பாடல்கள் பெரிதாக பேசப்படவில்லை. ஆனால் ட்ரெயிலர் பெரும் வரவேற்பைப் பெற்றுள்ளது.

ஏழாம் அறிவு
சூர்யா நடித்துள்ள ஏழாம் அறிவு, ஏ ஆர் முருகதாஸின் படைப்பு. சூர்யாவை விட முருகதாஸ் மீதுள்ள நம்பிக்கை இந்தப் படக்கும் அபார எதிர்ப்பார்ப்பை உருவாக்கியுள்ளது. படத்தின் இரண்டு பாடல்களும், ட்ரெயிலரும் ரசிகர்களை உற்சாகப்படுத்தியுள்ளது நிஜம். கமல் மகள் ஸ்ருதிக்கு தமிழில் இது முதல் படம்.

 

தமிழகத்தின் பெருமளவு நல்ல திரையரங்குகள் இந்தப் படத்துக்குக் கிடைத்திருப்பது இன்னொரு ப்ளஸ். அரசியலில் ஆயிரம் மாற்றங்கள் நடந்தாலும், எல்லாருக்கும் நல்ல பிள்ளையாக திகழ்வதால் உதயநிதி ஸ்டாலின் தயாரித்துள்ள இந்தப் படத்துக்கு சிவப்புக் கம்பள வரவேற்பு கிடைத்துள்ளது. படம் குறித்து முதல்நாள் வரும் 'மவுத் டாக்'தான் ரொம்ப முக்கியம் என்று நம்புகிறார் முருகதாஸ்.

ரா ஒன்

 

வேலாயுதம், ஏழாம் அறிவை விட, பெரிதும் எதிர்ப்பார்க்கப்படும் படம் ரா ஒன். காரணம் சொல்லித் தெரிய வேண்டியதில்லை... சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் ரஜினி இந்தப் படத்தில் சிறப்புத் தோற்றத்தில் வருகிறார். தன் கேரக்டருக்கு தானே டப்பிங் பேசியும் உள்ளார். எனவே தங்கள் தலைவரின் தரிசனம் காணவும் குரலைக் கேட்கவும் பெரும் ஆர்வத்துடன் காத்திருக்கிறார்கள் அவரது லட்சோப லட்சம் ரசிகர்கள். இவர்கள் அத்தனை பேரும் ஒரே ஒரு முறை இந்தப் படத்தைப் பார்த்தால் போதும், ரா ஒன் பாக்ஸ் ஆபீஸில் ஏ ஒன்னாகிவிடும் என்கிறார்கள் விநியோகஸ்தர்கள்!

Bala’s Eriyum Thanal with Atharva

Director Bala made a surprise decision as he always makes. A couple of weeks ago, it was announced that Director Bala had chosen Atharva for the lead role in his film. Every actor cast in Bala's film had a very good future, after acting in his films.

Atharva could not believe his luck, once Bala told him to quit committing in any other new film, since he has to act in his film. Now, there is more to it. Bala has come up with the script. It is based on a Malayalam novel which was translated into Tamil as Eriyum Thanal.

It is about a family, mother and father and the hardship of the parents to raise their children. The script is being helmed by one of the best writers. Still, Bala has not found a heroine and so he is hunting for one. The rest of the cast and crew will be decided soon.
Bala has always used Ilayaraja's or Yuvan Shankar Raja's music for all his films but he will go with GV Prakash this time. Audience will eagerly expect Bala's next film as his last film Avan Ivan was critically thrashed and it had a very below average run at the box office.

Mankatha 6th weekend in Malaysia

Ajith's golden jubilee flick 'Mankatha' has seen a big down in its 6th weekend at the Malaysia box office.

The film has collected approximately Rs. 11,617 on 1 screen and in its previous weekend the film has collected Rs. 51,944 on 2 screens.

'Mankatha' has totally collected Rs. 5,41,62,549 in the Malaysia box office.

Vijay’s Velayudham to be Genelia’ swan-song in Kollywood?

Actress Genelia D'Souza recently got engaged to Ritesh Deshmukh, a Bollywood actor and the son of Union Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh. Though they had been seeing each other for the past few years, they had always been denying that they were madly in love with each other. The couple got engaged at Deshmukh's Mumbai residence last week.

Genelia is a busy star in Hindi films and recently had her Hindi film opposite John Abraham releasing and hitting the bull's eye at the box-office. The Goan girl, who is awaiting the release of her latest Tamil film Velayudham on Deepavali eve, is likely to quit acting in films after her marriage to Ritesh, which is likely to take place early next year.

She has been approached by Simbudevan, who made Imsai Arasanum 23-m Pulikesiyum with Vadivelu in the lead, to do a film for him. She is likely to be paired up opposite Dhanush in that film titled Maareesan. If she agrees to that, it might be her last film but as such, she hasn't given any commitment about starring in the film so far.

Sources close to the actress say that she is likely to complete her present pending films in Hindi and tie the nuptial knot with Ritesh in February, 2012!

Saguni: Karthi’s first-ever full-length serious film?

 

It is reliably learnt that the shooting of the film Saguni, which would be actor Karthi's first release after getting married a few months back, has entered the final stages. The film pairs Kannada starlet Pranitha, who debuted earlier in the year as heroine opposite Arulnidhi in Udhayan, opposite Karthi.

Deviating from Karthi's feel-good and humourous films, Saguni is tipped to the actor's first-ever full-length serious film. Directed by debutant director Shankar Dayal, the film is said to feature many sequences resembling the 2-G 'spectrum scam' which is currently rocking the nation.

The character of Nira Radia, who was spoken about as the main 'agent' between the tainted Union Ministers and the commercial companies, does feature in the film, it is said. In fact, it is further added that the whole screenplay revolves around a female character modeled on the lines of Radi's style of operation.

The film, as such, won't be the story of Nira Radia but would deal with her 'part' in the mega-scam. The clash between Karthi, who plays the hero, and the female artiste who plays Radia, would be one of the highlights of the film, says Dayal.
