Anushka to become Rani Rudrama Devi?

Actress Anushka has been acclaimed as the reigning queen of South Indian film industry.

The actress has been simultaneously delivering her best spell in both Kollywood and Tollywood. While her recent release Thaandavam is winning her appreciations, the actress is keeping her fingers crossed on her upcoming Telugu release Damarukam in which Nagarjuna plays the lead role.

Although the actress had the best potential to deliver her roles proficiently, almost all her Tamil movies had her character with minimal importance.

Say for instance, her films Vaanam, Deiva Thirumagal, Singam, Vettaikaaran and latest release Thaandavam portrayed the actress merely in small roles.

This time, it looks like she's gonna get back to the Arundathi style as filmmaker Gunashekar has decided to make a bilingual period film in Tamil and Telugu with Anushka in lead role. The film is about the history of Rani Rudrama Devi and will have complete focus Anushka.

However when approached the actress, she was unavailable for the comments due to her shooting in foreign. Her spokesperson confirmed the news that Gunashekar has shown interest in casting for the role.

When the actress comes back to Hyderabad, she will listen to the script and sign on the dotted lines, if impressed with it.
