Some actors simply aren't satisfied with one job title.
Call them hugely talented, multitaskers or overworked people – they often feel the need to branch out, try something new to satisfy their creative urge.
From Thulluvatho Ilamai to Aadukalam, Dhanush has come a long way as an actor. He went on to surprise critics and his fellow cotemporaries with his outstanding performance and later bagging the prestigious National Award as Best Actor in the country for Aadukalam.
Dhanush is currently working with his wife Aishwarya for their ambitious venture titled 3- a film that is in the news for its unique title and star cast. The first look of the film, meticulous planning and home work, the speed at which the film is progressing-all is making it one of the hottest projects on floor.
Now a little birdie tells us that Dhanush has finally decided to take the plunge and direct a film in Hindi. Everyone knows that the actor makes short films during free time and breaks and it is his passion. But the decision to direct a film, at a time when he is on top is indeed big news.
The Bollywood buzz is that Dhanush was in Mumbai recently where he narrated a one-line story that he has written, to a top actor who has shown interest to be directed by the Superstar's son-in-law and a National Award winning actor.
When quizzed, Dhanush says with his trademark shy smile: "Wonder, how such news travel so fast. It's too early to talk about it. But direction has always been my first love."
On why he chose to make his baby steps in Bollywood, Dhanush said: "Why not Hindi? If the subject is bold and will appeal to the sensibilities of a wider audience, language is no bar"
So when does he plan to start the film, as he has couple of films like Mareesan lined up? Says the actor: "Probably by mid 2012"
