Director Vijay is now elated over the grand success of Vikram starrer 'Thaandavam' that has hit screens yesterday.

The film is reported of getting good percentage of occupancy in all the theatres, especially multiplexes.

The director has now confirmed that the shooting of his next film 'Thalaivan' starring Vijay in lead role.

According to the sources, actor Vijay is now held up over the title of issue of 'Thuppaaki' and if everything goes well without any problems, the film will hit screens on November 12 for the festive occasion of Diwali.

Soon after the film's release, he will start shooting for Thalaivan from November 19. The film is reported to have Samantha in female lead opposite Vijay while playback singer Vijay Yesudas makes his onscreen debut as baddie. G.V. Prakash is scoring music and Nirav Shah handles cinematography with Anthony as editor.
