The Tamil Nadu Film Directors Union has come out with a new revised wage structure.
At a press meet on Sunday (Jan 29) evening, the union announced it because the three-year agreement between Tamil Film Producers Council and FEFSI on wage revision, which was signed on April 10, 2008, expired.
As per the revised wage structure a director should be paid Rs 1,000 a day if the shooting is done in the city and Rs 1,200 for outstation shoots. For a joint director, the wages are Rs 500 within the city and Rs 600 outside, an associate director should be paid Rs 400 and Rs 500; the first assistant director should get Rs 300 and Rs 400; and the second assistant director Rs 200 and Rs 300 respectively.
The directors should start a film after getting a work agreement with the producer. And if a film is stalled, the director's salary of Rs 10 lakhs should be paid. The press meeting was held by Ameer the secretary of Director's Union along with other office bearers.
