Nayanthara or Anushka in Rani Rudrama?

 

Ever since director Gunasekhar announced his ambitious historical drama, Rani Rudrama, speculations are rife as to who would play the title role.

Rani Rudrama Devi was one of the few ruling queens in Indian history.

While the film-nagar buzz is that it would be Nayanthara or Anushka, the director told the media that he would confirm it after everything is finalized officially.

Anushka who impressed everyone with her acting skills as Jejamma in Arundhati is reportedly the hot favourite she has the right physique for a warrior queen. But it all depends on her availability, dates and remuneration. Currently, Anushka is busy with her Tamil assignments.

Meanwhile, Nayanthara is also in the race for this role. After her portrayal of Goddess Sita in Sri Ramarajyam, filmmakers are of the opinion that she can now pull of any role with finesse

So, it is almost a tie between Anushka and Nayanthara

Anushka’s dual role in Irandam

If sources in tinsel town are to be believed, Anushka Shetty, one of the most happening lady in K'town, will be seen in a dual role in Selvaraghavan's much anticipated Irandam Ulagam which has Arya in the lead.

A close source adds that the sultry siren will essay the role of a soft-spoken housewife as well as a tribal woman.

It is learnt that the tribal character has a lot of action sequences and hence Anushka is getting trained in self defense under a master in Mumbai.

Sources say that it is not a period flick as reported! "There are two parallel stories where Arya and Anushka play their roles separately and unite at one point in time. It is a fantasy entertainer," the source adds. The ace filmmaker is trying out a new look for the new pair. Says Selva, who is off to the US with his family, "Irandam Ulagam is a challenging script! I have explored a new genre that is intriguing.

It has everything — love, adventure, action, period backdrop, supernatural effects etc." As far as their looks go, yes, Arya and Anushka will make a terrific onscreen pair in IU, Selva claims.

The 24 year old Genelia has recently entered wedlock with Bollywood star Ritesh Deshmukh and the happiest couple enjoying their latest release Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, which is receiving rave reviews from audiences. Genelia has now win an entry into Limca Book, as her back-to-back films in four languages are marking super hit. Evidently in 2008 the actress has recorded super hits in all the four languages, with Jayam Ravi starrer Santosh Subramaniam in Tamil, Ready in Telugu, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na in Hindi and Satya In Love in Kannada, which marked her debut into Kannada films.

Director Ameer files police complaint

 

Noted actor-director Ameer filed a complaint at the Police Commissioner's Office yesterday against Studio Green and Gemini Lab. Ameer alleged that Studio Green has been trying to release the Telugu version of his film Paruthiveeran in Andhra Pradesh without his permission and without giving him the royalty rights.

He informed the media that he had given a letter to Gemini Labs earlier, asking them not to give the negatives and dubbing rights. However, he said that now along with Studio Green they are in a hurry to release the Telugu version of the film on March 2. "I have filed the complaint claiming my royalty rights as a writer, script writer and director," he said. A case filed by Ameer claiming the expenditure for making the film is still pending in the courts.

Tollywood super star Allu Arjun is all set to make his dream debut in Kollywood with Selvaraghavan's next venture after Irandam Ulagam.It is said that the duo are discussing the possibilities of joining together this year for a off beat subject. Adding more to the excitement this movie is said to be a bilingual which will be produced both in Tamil and Telugu. While contacting Allu Arjun's spokesperson he confirmed that the star is eyeing to feature in Selvaraghavan's next movie since they are discussing for quite a while now but it is said to be preliminary stage and clarified that the director will announce about the details in the near future.
